From where you can comfortably buy and sell the desired animal per your requirements. Without further ado, let’s find out the trend of the sacrificial Qurbani Haat in Bangladesh this year based on the Bikroy data in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Livestock Listings by Location<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Cattle sale ads are posted in different cities in Bangladesh. Most advertisements are posted from Dhaka, Rajshahi, Sylhet, Khulna, and Chittagong compared to other districts. Like last year, 36% of cows and goats from Dhaka have been advertised in the livestock listing<\/a> section. As most of the animals are bought in Dhaka and the farm owners get the expected price, sellers are more interested in selling animals in Dhaka. That is why the advertisement rate is also higher in Dhaka than in other districts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Khulna occupies the second place with 16% advertisement and Chittagong occupies the third place with 13% advertisement, same as last time. Besides, Sylhet has 12%, and Rajshahi has 11% advertisements. On the other hand, Barisal, Rangpur, and Mymensingh posted 4%, 4%, and 3% advertisements respectively. Like every year, this year too the ad posts are consistent which is a nice aspect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

59% of the cattle ads posted on Bikroy in 2024 are priced between BDT 50,000 and BDT 2.5 lac. 29% of the animals are priced below BDT 50,000 which is within the purchasing power of the general public, and because of the high demand for relatively small animals, this price range offers more advertisements. 10% of premium quality qurbani animal ads are priced between BDT 2.5 lac and BDT 10 lac, and only 1% of qurbani animal ads are listed above BDT 10 lac.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The number of ads for sacrificial animals in Bikroy is increasing every year as they can retain the trust and confidence of buyers and sellers. In 2021, 1,320 animals were sold from 8,147 advertisement posts. In 2022, the number of sold animals increased slightly to 1,754 from 8,652 advertisements. In 2023, the sold number increased to 2,000 animals from 9,000 ads. In 2024, so far, 10,000 ads have been posted and 2,200 animals have been sold, which is commendable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So far this year, an American cross Bahama cow from Sirajganj (Rajshahi Division) has been listed as the highest-value cattle on Bikroy. The price of this cow has been fixed at BDT 17 lac.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
