Smart City Hackathon to be held in Bangladesh on November 11

Smart City Hackathon will be held for the first time in Bangladesh this November. Preneur Lab, Grameenphone and White-board are the organizers of the initiative which will held in  GP House.  Smart City Hackathon will be a continuous 36 hours program for coders, designers, innovators overall all sorts of tech professionals. Within this 36 hours the contestant will try to implement their innovative ideas to solve the problems of Dhaka City.

The total population of Dhaka city is approximately 17.5 million and is rising rapidly. Being the capital of Bangladesh and a hub of business growth, Dhaka calls for disruptive thinkers and innovators to find solutions to meet Dhaka’s problems. Smart City is a giant leap towards a better city, a better Dhaka. It is a concept, whose main motive is to utilize the resources of the city in effective and efficient ways for the betterment of the Dhaka City life with the help of Information and communication technology.

The aim of Smart City Hackathon is to identify talent and by providing proper resources and guidance and helping them to implement their innovative ideas. Smart City Hackathon is a type of platform which will help you to give a practical shape to your innovative idea.

In this event, 25 teams will be able to participate. In each team, there will be a maximum of 4 members or minimum 3 members. Each team will work continuously for 36 hours to implement their idea and build the idea as a software (web/mobile app), hardware or AI. For each team, there will be a mentor who will guide them throughout the event. This program is open for all, but for participation, registration is required for each team. Teams will be selected based on team merits from the registered teams. The event is free of cost.

The winning team of Smart City Hackathon will get 3 Months coworking space @White-Board with access to their ecosystem. Relevant knowledge and asset support will be provided by White-Board to solidify the prototype. A special demo day will be organized by White-Board for commercial opportunities. 6 months Startup Mentorship and Support from Preneur Lab, 6 months mentorship from IEEE BDS, 6 months IPR and Incubation Support from Dnet (Junction), Funding opportunity from up to 2.5 Million BDT Spider Digital (Dubai), Funding opportunity from up to 2.5 Million BDT ICT Division*, Media support from The Daily Ittefaq / Radio Foorti will also be provided to the winner.
